IT'S THE TIME OF THE YEAR FOR CEBU'S ANNUAL SINULOG FESTIVAL

It's been 2 years already since the last time we celebrated and had our Annual Sinulog Festival. I think, we can't celebrate it this year too, with the recent typhoon devastation plus the Omicron variant of COVID-19. Since I wanted to reminisce the last time we had this annual Festival, it was year 2020, I wanted to blog about it and reminisce it with you all.

I, together with my daughter Kendra, went to see the street parade and it was a memorable day since it was the very first time that I brought her along with me.

We first went to McDonald's to have our breakfast inorder to fill our energy for all the walking, since cars or jeepneys won't be able to enter along the area where the street dancing and festivities took place.

My daughter was so excited and was smiling seeing the Sinulog contenders dancing on the streets. We were able to have some photos taken with them that excites her even more.

This was actually during the Sinulog sa kabataan street dancing, that's why it's not that crowded and we're also grateful as we witnessed it together that day.

There's the foodpanda float as well that drives attention especially that it's on my favourite color, pink!

Someone went tired after all the walking so momma came to the rescue and carry her. It was a fun-filled Sinulog experience with my daughter.

Prior to that year, during 2019, I was able to offer a Sinulog dance as one of the Cebu Provincial Dancers. It was my first experience dancing as a guest contender, and I am hoping that it won't be the last.

It might be so tiring and it rained during the street dancing and it was even harder since the stage was a little slippery at the Cebu City Sports Center where the dance presentation took place but it was all worth it.

Everyone is looking forward for the next Sinulog Festival, but for now I can't say when wille it be, it might be next year and I'm hoping that we will soon be able to recover from all of these trials, including the pandemic. Though, the celebration and novena for Sr. Sto. Niño, our patron saint, the reason behind the festival, will continue and will start next week through online mass. One thing is for sure, our faith will always keep us going. Praying for a better and brighter World.
